Choirmaster – South Shields Membership Terms and Conditions
1. Overview
Choirmaster is a vibrant community choir open to all, regardless of age or musical experience. We aim to perform a variety of music genres to a high standard in a friendly, inclusive, and engaging environment.
These Terms and Conditions outline the expectations, fees, and commitments required for participation.

2. Membership & Fees
• Annual Fee Structure: Membership fees are set on an annual basis and are reviewed at the start of each September term.
• Session Fee: The current per-session fee is published on the official membership website and may be updated following the annual review each September.
• Payment Terms: Payments are made termly in advance, calculated based on the number of sessions in each term.
• Non-Refundable: Membership payments are non-refundable and non-transferable, including missed sessions.
• Trial Rehearsal: New members are welcome to attend one free trial session before committing.
• Performance Levy: Some large productions may include a small additional fee to help cover event-related costs. If this applies, it will be clearly communicated in advance at the start of the relevant term. We always ensure any additional contributions are kept reasonable and affordable.

3. Rehearsals
• Schedule & Location: Rehearsals are held weekly. Exact times and locations will be communicated to members and published on the official website.
• Rehearsal Materials:
• Members will be provided with one printed copy of lyrics.
• Additional or replacement copies may incur a small fee.
• Punctuality: Rehearsals begin promptly. Venues open 30 minutes before the start time unless otherwise stated.
• Attendance: Regular attendance is expected. Absences should be communicated in advance.
• Performance Readiness: If under-rehearsed, members may be asked not to perform in events.

4. Expectations & Conduct
Members agree to:
• Attend rehearsals regularly and arrive on time.
• Respect fellow singers, staff, and the rehearsal space.
• Avoid consumption of alcohol before or during rehearsals.
• Keep mobile phones on silent during sessions (except for approved recording use).
• Contribute positively to the group’s spirit and ambition.

5. Uniform & Performances
• A Choirmaster T-shirt must be purchased for performances.
• Performance attire also includes black trousers and smart black shoes.
• Members are not obligated to perform at all events, but must communicate availability in advance.

8. Photography & Media
Members may appear in photographs or videos taken during rehearsals and performances for promotional purposes. If you prefer not to appear in such materials, please notify the Musical Director in writing.

By attending rehearsals and making payment, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. The Musical Director reserves the right to make amendments as necessary, with members notified of any changes.
